Coffee dates are a unique and genuine gesture of interest from one person to another, you are taking time (as is the other person) to meet at a coffee shop, for a coffee or tea that you are better off without and discussing everything under the sub (unless you are super awkward or playing games), but seriously you can learn so much from a person or even about a person, over coffee. Depending on how long or how intimate the conversation becomes, you have had two solid hours to see how they react to you and to see what they are like as people.
Body language is key, the minute you noticing them subconsciously mimicking your body movements, it's game over, you got this! If coffee turns into a bite to eat else where, you got this! These are both good signs! If it turns into wham, bam, thank you man...or mister, then I would suggest searching else where for company and probably getting checked out by your doctor as well as checking your wallet shortly after.
Coffee dates offer you a chance to actually meet the person and develop a relationship of some sort with them; on top of that, they can be more than random people meetings but a great place to bring family together. I had an exgirlfriend from Markham who was Mexican and very family orientated. Her and her family would go out for dinner once a week to some fast food place for dinner but then always go to Tim Hortons for desert usually. It was an interesting ritual but nice to be included in it nonetheless :)
A coffee date is exactly where you wanna start in a relationship and a lot harder to get than you would think. I wish you all luck in your endeavours, and thanks Tim Hortons for being a huge help in all my adventures :) I don't know how I could ever explain all the different encounters I have had at tom Hortons, it truly is a staple in canada, Thunder Bay would certainly not have been the same for me if it was not on the places it was :)
Sincerely to my readers, be yourself, be kind and when it is real, forever remember.
Cheers!
C.B.
